I don't know about this. Right out of high school I went to work for a very wealthy farmer he was self made and no dummy he had several bins at several locations. One day I was emptying a corn bin at a farm and seen 7 5000 bushel bins and I went over and tapped on them they were full. I asked if we were emptying them he said no they were full of beans and had been for a couple years they were his gambling bushels. One year later 2003 happened and he emptied them then turned around and bought more ground. Doesn't work for everyone but to say every one who does it is a bad business man is wrong. This guy is one of the most successful I know owns a bank now also. How many guys own a bank on here? I can't afford to do it but if you are floating your own operation on cash some can make it work. He wasn't doing this on all his crop either just set so many bushels away and left them until he got a big rally. It would have been at least one years beans he held for quite a while.
