NE South Dakota Clark, SD | Calibrate following the the manual. Do not just run a load through and say that was pretty close. Use a calibrated weigh wagon for your weighing. Make sure you also calibrate the logging switch so when the head is up at normal turn around height it is not logging. This will change as you change crops. Calibrate the moisture sensor and recheck that as conditions change. If it has a temperature calibration, check that daily. Make sure the elevator chain is adjusted correctly and that the paddles are in good shape.
Make sure you run the combines side by side not in different parts of the field. If they are running side by side they can be adjusted to each other. Collecting junk yield data is easy. Every combine can do it right from the factory. Collecting good yield data takes a little work. Collecting great yield data takes more work, but gives you a piece of data that is very useful. |
