Thankfully I don't have to deal with this with my kids. When I heard that this was becoming a trend I knew it was going to get ugly if my kids' school tried it. I'll buy my kids name brand stuff and expect them to take care of it. If they have to "share" with the kids who brought garbage and treat it as such, the teacher (or principal or super intendant or whoever) and I will have words.
