Subject: RE: New ride for wife

Acadia has a larger rear hatch then the Enclave or or Traverse. We had a Outlook, great vehicle once the early model year issues were taken care of (anything 10 and newer should be fine).

We looked at a Toyota Highlander, nice vehicle, but we are taller people and it didn't have as much room inside (side to side is narrower, esp on top / shoulder area). My parents have one now, and as mom gets less mobile, she's not as much of a fan anymore.

We ended up with a Ford expedition, larger then the acadia again by a bit, but unlike the Tahoe / Suburban, has independent rear suspension. Pratically speaking, this allows the rear differential to be fixed, whereas the GM's need to have a high tunnel yet with the rigid axle. This allows a lower rear deck height which my wife uses daily for kids bags, groceries etc. It also allows about double the drop down room for legs from the top of the seat cusion. On the negitive side, the doors don't open as far (second row) making it a little harder getting kids in and out of the car seat vs the Acadia / Outlook we had before.

Pros and cons to all of them.
