Subject: should a cow man pay attention to corn price?

western iowa,by Denison
Since a fellow ag talker kind of thinks a guy shouldn't post breakevens and purchase price maybe I need to approach it different?
Do you as cowman pay attention to what it cost to feed a calf-corn is up 10cents today-do you ever hedge corn as a hedge against less for the sale of the calf?

As a cowman-do you run breakevens if you feed it out?
Do you contract that calf so that you are guaranteed a sale price above your breakeven or do you just gamble that the fat cattle price will reward you?

If you do feed those calves out-are you talking the market up or down?
