Madison Co. Virginia | Cows may be different, but I've had fits with Jersey heifers on a smaller tarter gate (series 3?). My heifers wanted to go through the gate with their head down low. Since the gate has the curved bars, the widest portion is at shoulder height. If I opened it wide enough so they could put their head through low, they could push through with their shoulders. If I tightened it down, they couldn't find an opening for their head where they wanted it. If I buy another one, I'd look for one with straight bars, or ideally, wider at the bottom than at shoulder height.
Otherwise it seems like a fairly sturdy chute, but for the price I paid, I thought the joints should have been made to higher tolerances. | |
