NEND | We had a crazy windstorm here a little over a week ago. Shelterbelts in the area are a mess, thousands of trees blew down. It will take a long time to get them cleaned up. I have less to clean up than some, but still have a few miles to take care of. I have one field of wheat that has a few trees down (we will just leave them till after harvest), but it has quite a few branches laying out in the crop. The wind blew them out into the field 100' or more. I'm afraid we won't have time to pick all of them out before harvest. I'm attaching pictures of some typical branches I was picking out of one of my soybean fields. They are mostly cottonwood. I will dump the rock trap often and watch for them when we harvest the fields. Just wondering how big of branches the combine will handle.
