Not sure on the 6 to 8 boot pull difference. But on our goldigger we survey the run. Say your target depth is 40 inches we set it at 24 to 28 inches if we pre rip. Then back up drop in and run the shallow depth first. You need firm dirt on the "toe" of the plow to keep grade good. We like to have around 6inches or more of undisturbed dirt to plow into depending on the tile diameter.
