nw MN | I always thought that .223 would be the cheapest to shoot, and in theory it should be. I bought a nice bolt rifle with a bull barrel, put a tripod on it and it is awesome to shoot. But everytime there is a run on guns after a shooting or whatever that is the first stuff cleaned off the shelf to be hoarded, if you can find any it is twice what it should cost. ARs gobble the stuff up. When I go to the gun shop and see and empty shelf of .223 or a few boxes at $1+ a round and .22-250 or .243 sitting right next to it for less than half it makes a guy wonder why I went with the lower performing round to save money on ammo. | |
