Doing the taper is one thing but moving the top soil as far back as the OP said indicates they dont care------------its gone to far to be considered a "mistake" contractors dont make those kind of mistakes . I would still let a lawyer handle it myself, You go in and try to talk to them and they wont be accountable for what they have done I would bet. I would say a survey team needs called in and the property surveyed for property lines before it goes any farther.......Who knows maybe the property line the OP thinks is his isn't his after all
