Has anyone built there own wheel dolly to be able to take on a off rear tractor tires and duals. We use a forklift but yesterday I was alone in the shop taking duals off of one tractor an putting on another an got me thinking of building one. We have a wide assorment of tires from 800 floaters to regular 46s r2 to 38s an every size in between wide an skinny. Don't want to but the real expensive one that they sell either.

We use that tool as well. One of the best investments we made!

We have the bierman one that goes underneath the wheels, it's the only way to change tires! $2800 a couple years ago

Here's the link to Bierman sales (the one pictured above).

I've got one. Best way for someone (like me) to take them off and put them on alone. Just took duals off last week with it.

One of the farm shows had one built with a pallet jack as the base. Looked pretty slick.

The bierman one has brackets for pallet forks or a skid steer quick attach plate

What did you use for the rollers? And did you make it adjustable for different size tires?

Just kinda engineered by inentory. Rolls came from the conveyors from an old Tyler airflow. A one inch shaft with a three inch rubber roller. Multiple rolls would be better or adjustable. Just something I threw together in an hour to help speed up changing sprayer tires. Cut our tire changing by an half hr.

The closer you can put the rollers together the better. I have mine too far apart because of the bearing holders that were on the rollers when I found them. So the lugs can get a little hung up between the rolls. But it's still easier to turn them that 1/4 inch with the rolls than without.

I think Cliff SEIA built one of those and had pictures of it on a 1840 (?) Case skidloader.

Can't find the thread at the moment but hope he sees this and replies.

Here's what we use. You can see on the far right the pump for the hydraulics to squeeze the tire. The duals in the picture are front duals for an 8000, but we move right up to r46 with it no problem.

Finished mine this afternoon. I wanted one I could use with the forklift or wheel around the shop by myself. Other than my time, which isn't worth that much most days, I think I have about $300 invested in the project.

I got the rollers from an office and warehouse supply company nearby. A five foot section of used roller table cost me $60, and i have enough leftover to make two more of these if I want to.

The whole idea was to see if I could build one unit capable of working with tires as small as semi tires all the way up to 50 inch dual tractor wheels. We will have to see if I achieved the goal or not. I have no idea whatsoever if it will work, but it looks good!
