South Central Kansas, Harper County | Did an initial burndown on weeds in fields going to soybeans in Mid April, burndown consisted of glyphosate, 24-D, Diacamba, and a little generic metribuzen. After that initial burndown, Our normal practice has been to apply glyphosate and sonic right after soybeans are planted .
This year, has been an extremely wet May, and another flush of weeds have resulted. Small pigweeds, small marestail among others. I'm thinking I need to change things up, as I don't think the Sonic will take care of the already emerged weeds. Been thinking of using one of these, as soon as weather allows me to get back over the ground. Fierce, Glyphosate, with small amount of generic metribuzen or Verdict,Glyphosate, and small amount of generic metribuzen. I haven't priced these out yet, to compare costs, but think both may do what I want.
I'm thinking the Fierce mixture would allow me to plant soybeans whenever I want, but perhaps the Verdict would require 10-14 days wait after application for planting?
Any thoughts or opinions on what I'm contemplating?
Thanks,
Jim |
