Subject: RE: simazine and planting beans

I looked up the Princep label (Syngenta brand of simazine)

Field crops - field and sweet corn

Lots of tree fruits - almonds, peach, nectarines, apples, cherries, Avocados, etc

Also Christmas trees.

Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, etc

Years ago, Princep has a labeled use for in established alfalfa. However, that was pulled years - decades - ago.

Simazine does not move down thru the soil very much at all. So, you could safely use it on some crops that has deep roots. That is why you see a lot of deep rooted crops (trees) listed above. That is why you could use simazine on some crops where you could not use atrazine - which is more mobile in the soil profile.
