No way would I mix it with another seed or plant every other row with. If there are issures next with it germinating then you have a problem over more acres plus a seed compnay isn't going to stand behind there seed if something else has been mixed in with it. I wouldn't be afraid to plant it, if stored correctly, but would plant it by itself. That way if there's an issue it's all contained in one block & esier to replant.

As to the OP's original question as to how long it will keep. My son has worked in the seed industry & some seed corn is kept as long as ten years in a controlled environment. Usually they don't sell seed that old but it's not uncommon for seed to be 2-3 years old. If you know what to look for there are ways to tell if a bag of seed is a carry over & sometimes you can tell how many years it's been carried over. Seed companies must retest germ each year before they can sell carry over seed.
