Skip the hay.

Wean when they eat 2# calf starter for 3 days in a row.

1#/day max? Do you have calf starter or just generic all purpose/critter feed?

I repeat. Do not feed them hay. Save that until they are about 12 weeks old then only a small amount about 2-3#
May I ask why no hay? All my calves get hay from about 3 weeks on. Some nibble on it and some full on eat it. I feel it's good for them. Maybe i'm all wrong and full of phooy but my calves seem to do very well with a bit of roughage.
