NC Indiana | My Gallagher reels have 3 hooks on the back and I turn the reel vertical and hook the reel to the T post from the back side so that the hooks slip between the knobs on the front of the post. For safety I tie it off with plastic hay bale twine. I've also used plastic twine in a loop tied to they post like you're using your wire for (I've used wire too). I've also used 2 pig tail post with a fiberglass post run through it for a temporary reel stand, just make sure the cleats on the pigtail post are on the pull side. I have one now that the poly crosses another poly to be energized and its setting on a piece of plastic on the ground - cows are in my hay yard and fencing them off the hay. I've thought about welding up some portable stands using rebar, but its on the list. | |
