Looks like a good plan you have there. In my ladder system with single hot wires between most paddocks, I pounded in a 5" wood post every 100 ft or so and put in large screw eyes into the posts to hold my Gallagher reel hooks. On my older system at another location I either hang the reel on a non energized perimeter fence barb wire with an alligator clip jumper wire from the hot (middle of 5 wires on perimeter fences) to the reel or if I cant get to the perimeter fence I use #9 wire wound tightly around a steel T post to make a loop to hang the reel and again use a jumper wire to the single smooth 14 ga interior divider wire if I need to pass the juice on. The number 9 (brace type) wire is stiff enough it can usually support the reel if I tension my aluminum wire tight enough. I don't know how it would work with poly that you can't really pull that tight to support the reel... fwiw. Good luck. |
