NC Indiana | 4 paddocks is suppose to increase efficiency to 45% here, 8 would improve it to 60%. Continuous is suppose to be 40% efficient here. All per Purdue CES so take that for what it's worth. Dividing and moving once a week should help with the survival of the plant species they tend to favor. You could split each 1/4 pasture east and west based upon your schedule to further help with plant recovery. Even splitting each of them in 1/2 with no back fence to water should reduce trample. Depending on terrain, size, and forage, I might look at making that knocked area its own paddock in the SE corner (it looks like it might be twice as wide as the other strips some maybe 2/3 of a strip in size???). That's my 2 from a million miles away. | |
