I like to give 1 oz silver bars.. People really like them and $20 buys em send as many as you see fit.. But this Christmas for my God son ( son of a really good college buddy) I was not sure what to get 3 yr old Travis.. Luckily Harbor Freight had police mega phones on sale.. Little Travis loved it..

IMO, an American Silver Eagle coin in the appropriate vintage, either 2015 or 2016 to commemorate birth year or 1 yr birthday would be appropriate. American Silver Eagles are the modern day silver dollar.

If you feel excessivlely generous, get a mint pack is 20 of 'em. Make good graduation/wedding gifts too. Siver Eagles do cost a shade more than bars. I've given bars too, but I've grown to prefer the coins.
