NE SD | My wife leaves them out 2 weeks before refrigerating but doesn't change the brine. If they aren't cloudy, they stay out longer. They don't get opened or checked until she wants to take a jar somewhere or opens one to eat at home. Maybe you're losing something when you open and break the seal? She doesn't use pickle crisp like most do now, she uses Alum. Don't know what you use, but maybe Alum would give you a saltier taste if you aren't using it (just randomly guessing lol) Everybody raves about her pickles, so must be doing something right! | |
