| Could be a number of things, but recently I replaced our fairly pricy Dlink router (the one with 3 fan blade antennas so it has to be faster) with a TP Link Archer C7. Previously I had to reboot the DLink to get phones to connect and sometimes other computers in the house. Also, we would have slow internet when nothing was running and I believe the service was working well. The TP Link, which sounds like a cheapy but is rated well, appears to have fixed my previous issues.
Since we had started and later sold a wireless internet service, my typical choice would be a cisco, sonic wall, etc, but they can be more challenging to setup and pretty much have no extra features. Seems like consumer level routers sacrifice performance for features. The Dlink had nice graphics, but that does make up for connectivity and other problems. I'm only a few days in with the TP Link and it doesn't have pretty graphics, but it was a big improvement right away even to direct wired devices. hth | |
