NE IL | I make a bag of mixed nuts, prefer the pecans myself, but peanuts, walnuts, almonds, cashews, etc. all work. I don't know if you like pork rinds, but those work occasionally if you don't mind the higher salt content. For the main course, just put turkey, chicken or lean roast beef on a lettuce leaf and throw a slice of cheese on it too. Boiled eggs work. Cook a batch up and have them ready for the week. I like cauliflower and broccoli cooked up and put into containers. It's actually pretty good cold after it's been cooked. I'll bring a tin of smoked oysters or sardines sometimes. If your taking the cooler, cottage cheese is good as well as string cheese and sugar free jello cups. Don;t forget your carrots and celery too. You can put some natural peanut butter on the celery to make it more tasty. Sometimes, I also grab a leftover chicken breast, hamburger or steak in the morning, run it through the microwave and wrap it in some foil to keep it warm. | |
