S.E. Sask. | Rather than dig up last night's post from way down the page I will just reply here re: harvesting flax. Curt, yes it was swathed last October with intentions of picking it up but the grain never got below 11% moisture (10% is dry) so I waited. In hindsight I should have harvested it at 11 and sold it right away. Flax straw is notorious for wrapping but seemed worse this spring. Even had a wrap around the tractor pto shaft at one point this afternoon. Wind so strong it blew the straw from the combine across almost to the next swath. But good news, had a small army of family help today and finished up about 5:00. Even got a good few acres of straw piled with the "new" straw rake. Photo of the last hopper unloading.
