Subject: Fencing project: Shoat, pig and hog rings

We have never had hogs other than a 4-H project when growing up. I'm attempting to use hog rings for a fencing project. I went to Orscheln's and bought a pair of Decker Mfg pliers and a pack of 100 shoat rings as well as a pack of 100 pig rings (looked the same to me but I figured I'd see a difference while crimping.

They had hog rings as well but I did not buy those as I assumed they were bigger and I wanted something small for my project.

I tried the pig rings first and the pliers appear too large for them. Then I tried the shoat rings and they are close but not perfect. Do I need a different set of pliers? These were the only ones at Orscheln's. Anything that will work better for fence (chicken fence)? Thanks.
