If you are loosing your even gears(10th/12th etc.), sounds like your even clutch is slipping under load. While your instrumentation shows the transmission is downshifting on its own, all it is doing is comparing vehicle speed with engine RPM to determine what gear the transmission is in. This tends to confirm the clutch slippage. Might try some other even gears to confirm this.
