With the right equipment on the tractor the tech can contact the tractor (or combine or sprayer) from the dealership and do the troubleshooting from there. Then the tech can go out with the right parts already with him. Yeah, wouldn't it be great to have a modem on the machine that sends codes to your farm office and to your dealer of choice? Then, the dealer can access your machine from their building (with your permission) and do some troubleshooting without making a trip first? The technology is already out there. It's just been recently that the pieces are being put together to make all this happen. JD calls their version of the connection hardware and communications JDLINK. |
