Michigan - Saginaw County | Well, Mother Deere is going through some intestinal cramping. The sale of expensive green paint is sagging, hundreds of JD workers laid off, dealer cash flow is tanking, grain prices way down, former BTO's are pinching their pennies, resale of 1 to 2 year old used equipment is down, dealers are demanding a lot more dollar per engine hour to roll the leased equipment over. Small/family dealers cannot afford the interest on millions and millions of dollars of floor inventory that is not moving off the lots so Deere is forcing them to sell out to bigger dealers in the belief that concentrating the cash flow in fewer dealer hands will allow those dealers to floor plan all that new green paint.
Meanwhile competition from other colors of paint is heating up. It is going to get a lot more interesting. |
