I have always thought these were C130 planes? They fly LOW over our place frequently. I've kidded before that the one pilot smokes, and another has a tattoo on his left shoulder...
The fighters come over very low as well, and their noise alone will startle you for certain.
They really like this river corridor. I don't know for sure where they fly out of.
