Subject: RE: Rail road ties or other corner posts

Culbertson, MT
I generally use ties. Just bought 4 bundles (16 per) for $12.95, from salvage company out of Colorado. They were along the main line just south of me. Heavy as he11, should be good #1's. I have some pipe we plan to use this year, have only used it in the corral in past. Here's a tip to help a tie (or any good wood post) last: use gravel to back fill. The moisture will wick away, and easy to tamp! I have some in my corral that are set that way, have been there for 35 years and still solid.
