We have now converted all our computers (6 of them) to Windows 10.  We find it to be very stable and it has better performance than Windows 7.  We have not had any software compatibility problems.  You can turn off the the snooping features in Windows 10.  We had one minor hiccup with the install on one older laptop.  But the second attempt went well on that machine.  I would recommend installing Windows 10 and be done with it.
