Texas/New Mexico Stateline | I'm always hearing how disability is one of the most under-insured catastrophes there is.
Looking into it, it seem there are lots of "outs" for the insurance company to deny you payment, then it is a little expensive for what you get out of it?
Using one of those online free quote things, a $2000 per month benefit for 5 years of payments after you become disabled for me would be about $500 a year. And my experience with the online quote programs when it comes down to writing the check it will always be higher.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anybody has had a claim or knows somebody that has, and were glad they had it? I'd hate to be laid up in the hospital or resthome and wifey had to work with 3 kids at the house. I'm 36 years old by the way, and have excellent health and don't smoke. Already have term life insurance in place.
Seems like you can never find the end of buying insurance.
