Subject: What's a cover drop?


SE Nebraska, Near Misery and Cans Ass!
There's a post in stock talk about taking a cover crop off for silage. I have no problem with that. I think that's one of the best ways to raise forage. I just don't think that is a cover crop. A cover crop should, by definition, be left in the field to return all nutrients to the soil. With what their doing corn silage could be called a cover crop. Am I just too picky?
