Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | That's the problem with getting any change. Something like out of 40 some state senators only 7 represent rural areas. The rest are mainly cities.
The rural areas send a lot of money to the state in taxes and then it gets redistributed with most of it going to the metropolitan schools.
I know in my legislative district, for every $10.00 in tax revenue sent to the state only a dollar comes back to this district. The rest is kept and spent for the schools in Lincoln and Omaha. |
