Precious metals have always had value, always, since the beginning of time. It is universal too and it doesn't matter where you are at it still has value. If something does happen to the dollar it will not even be worth the value of toilet paper because it is too small and wont fit the size of the object being wiped. Metals are a way to carry some wealth over to the next form of money what ever that may be. Our cattle will be stolen and slaughtered in the field while we are asleep. In the 29 depression folks still had some morals and pride about them. Humans have lost about all of that now and I think we will be surprised at how low they will be able to go.
