Subject: RE: Arizona in Pearl Harbor

Roann In.
I took my daughter there one year while we on Maui, flew over for the day and did the Arizona and the "Punch Bowl" Naval war memorial. What I recall more than anything else was all of the "chatter" on the boat as we left from the memorial dock and the closer we got to the Arizona, how utterly quiet it was. Hardly anyone was speaking, and, was like mentioned above, a good portion of the guests that day were of oriental race. Had nearly the same experience a year or so later at the Tomb of the unknown out in DC. Ran into the Marine later that day up at Robert E. Lee's home who had just came off of duty at the Tomb and spoke to him for quite some time. Very amazing young man, wonder where he is today.
