SCMN | I'm just getting started. I got all the threaded holes cleaned out good, loctited the pins, torqued to 175 ft-lbs. I put the first couple arms back on and the kit looks like it will work great for taking the slop out of the arms. My question is on setting the gap with the shim washers. The wheels themselves are not true, one spot lightly rubs the disk, spin it and there's a 1/16" gap. Some are worse than others. If I set them to eliminate the gap in the wide spots it will rub quite hard in the other spot. The bearings are all good in the wheels, we replaced any that had play. Any advice? Can you tweak/tune the wheels to run straighter? Just set them for the tightest spot on the wheel like the RK instructions say and let er rip? I'm still running scrapers and even with a small gap the RK kit will be way better than the idiotic threaded bushings. |
