NW Indiana | 10 bu isn't much to make up. A few dollars up front can cost you a lot more. I was in a difficult situation due to a landlord and was pressured into buying seed from a company I wouldn't even let it my door for except for this relationship. I knew the seed wouldn't be a top preformer but was hoping it would at least keep up. It was $60+ cheaper than agrigold 6499. This varierty was a Syngenta product and was suppose to be a good hybrid. I placed it the the best I could in a high yielding field. Was 35 bushel less than 6499. On that 160 acres it cost me over $22,000. But the seed for the field was $2200 cheaper! Don't do it unless it's a proven hybrid you know will produce. | |
