| I have several sources telling me that I should be adding zinc to my starter fertilizer that we apply with the planter.
I have pretty high P levels in all my fields (no less than 50 and some quite a bit higher), OM is about 6% with pH 6-7 range, K in the 200-400 ppm.
Most of my fertility comes from pig manure, from which we would apply 3.5-4# Zn/acre according to the manure test. We I'm in MN, so it can be cold when we plant corn.
How much Zn do I need to add? What's the best formulation to use in my situation?
One fert. company told me to use 2.5 quarts of Zn, another company gave me a price for 10-34 with 4% Zn.....how do I compare those options?
Thanks!
