I went to my eye doctor yesterday ( which I haven't been for several years) and got the full exam. I'm 56 and I told her that if it was possible , I wanted to check into that Lasik surgery stuff because of me farming and mechanicing it would be super annoying for me to wear glasses. I have one eye that distance is blurry and the other eye close up is blurry---- thinking that I would be a perfect candidate for lasik. In short, she told me that if I got lasik for my distance, it would make my close vision worse. She also said that they would operate on my far-sited eye to help with my far away vision-- just the opposite of what I would think. I'm confused to say the least. I don't want to make this post too long so could any of you update me on just what takes place in lasik??? Thanks.
Get a second oppinion. Might be better doctors out there. My wife can now compete with me and she was blind as a bat before surgery. (I have natural 20/12)
