here is a little down and dirty on their Production breakdown.

http://cornandsoybeandigest.com/soybeans/soybean-planting-brazil-st...

because of there very long planting season they can really lower equipment cost as a $100,000.00 planter setup can cover 5000+ acres a year in

Tara I don't know how closely you read your citation but from the article:

"Seed is inoculated and treated with insecticide and fungicide. A common fertilizer formula we use is 02-20-18, at a rate of 202 lbs./acre.

That is how we manage a common soybean crop in Brazil. The difference between the regions is the fertilizer. In cerrado areas up north (Mato Grosso) they

use twice the fertilizer rate we use in southern Brazil. The soil there is sandy and poor, while the soil here in the South is rich in clay (70%) and

has a good native fertility."

So by my calculations, they use 60 lb/acre potash in the south and 120 lb/acre potash in the cerrado region. I assume that would be per crop. So if they plant two crops they may well use 200 lb/acre. Just sayin.

Your wasting your time kevin.
