Old Boy doesn't give his location so i can't comment on he see's, but from what i understand your area which i believe has high temperatures during the day, but cooler temps overnight than in eastern areas can lead to higher kernal weights due to better grain fill conditions.
That could make a difference. We're actually quite variable from year to year, but I do know that those years when nighttime temps don't go below 80*F much during grain fill are usually have poor irrigated yields. |
