| If you really want to do it just jump in!! If it's only 8 cows it won't break ya - I'm young and personally that's not enough to mess with - if I just wanted a hobby id seriously considered 20 goats - if for some reason I have to downsize to 10-30 HD I'll probably just get out and get a few goats I can go play with - I got a few good cowboy friends that'd let me tag along once a week to get my fix of "doing cowboy sh*t" and id have my goat herd to go mess around with in my free time
