| I don't use anhydrous, but the reason I believe it is deep placed would be to seal the product in the ground using just a knife. I do not know what your soil is, but I cannot justify placing a mobile nutrient such as N deep especially 6-8 months prior to when the crop will use it. I do not have my nitrogen cycle memorized but I believe NH3 will need to go through an additional conversion process compared to urea. Cool soil temperatures will greatly slow that cycle, thus the reason NH3 does work in the fall application processed. I personally would avoid it, but that is just me. | |
