Notice I did not say it was impossible to reach 240bpa at a population of 32k. I said you would have a difficult time doing it. When all conditions are right yes it is possible. My guess is you could have gotten a higher yield than 263bpa if you planted thicker.

You get a year where you lose some stand, have a little greensnap, or have some pollination issues and you will not get up to 240bpa and beyond.

I am not talking about a spike on a yield monitor I am talking about fields averaging 250bpa and above. It is extremely difficult to get there when you only have 30k or 31k harvestable ears.

If it was the best way to reach high yields we would all be planting flex hybrids at 32k.
