| Tom, that is some interesting data. I would be curious to see the economics on it. In our area planting 1 bu an acre of rye cost $16 for the seed cost. Add in the additional charge for application and the cost increases to about $35/ac. With 3.6 and 7 bu advantage at $4 corn that is a net loss economically.
Not leaning one way or another on it, but curious how it compares economically in your area to use cover crops ahead of corn, and if it can be positive. | |
