That is a challenging scenario, one that I tend to fight. I really believe that if you can put some N out there to feed teh microbes to help break down the material you would be as well off. You have a lot of carbon out there tieing up N that is needed for corn. Don't know anything about downforce. All the residue can be a challenge.
