Subject: RE: Is Turkey on the Menu Today or Something Different?

Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa

Turkey got voted out of favor around here several years ago........about the time I got a convection oven and discovered that I could turn out a cooked bird fit for the cover of Good Housekeeping.  ;~(     I'm the only one who really likes it, and it didn't make a lot of sense to work that hard and end up with that much leftover.  So now we do a pork loin, mashed taters, gravy and the rest of the traditional meal.

Then for Christmas dinner we do a boneless prime rib and baked potatoes and a wonderful salad that our d-i-l makes.

It doesn't make a shred of difference what or how we eat or celebrate, we're all together and have had another good year.....definition of a good year is one in which we're all together at the end of it. That's all that really matters.
