Middlesex County, Ontario
This is the same thing GinNB said but more detailed.

We are going to log into your wifi router and view the password there from your desktop computer or other device that is connected to your router.

To access your router we need to know the default gateway. Its likely 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 but it may be something different. To figure out for sure, click windows and find and run "Command Prompt." Its going to be a black text window. Very hacker-ish. If you are scared of this program don't be. The only way to do things in this is to type and press enter. We are only going to do that once. Type in ipconfig/all and press enter. It will give you a list of stuff. Scroll down and find Default Gateway. It should be in the second block called Ethernet Adapter. Write down the address. Its likely 192.168.1.1 but it might be something like 10.189.123.120 or whatever. It doesn't matter, just write it down. You can close that command prompt window now.

Open Internet Explorer. Use Internet Explorer, not Firefox, chrome, etc. Internet Explorer is terrible but its the standard. Type the address you wrote down into the address bar and press enter. You should come to a page that asks for a username and password. This is the username and password for your actual router device. You probably don't know them. They ship with a generic username and password from the factory and not many people ever change them afterwards. Here are some ways around that:

Just try an enter with the default values.
Try user: Admin pass: admin
Try user: Admin pass: (leave blank)
go to http://www.routerpasswords.com/ and enter in your router information to see what that model was shipped with.

Once you are you can view your router settings. This is different for every router, but you should be able to view the password under something along the lines of "router settings -> connectivity -> basic -> Network Name and Password."
