Subject: RE: bearing brand and source

Unfortunately   pretty much all  bearing mfgs.  are  global  sourced  these  days.

I used to  run  skf,  just because of  my local availability.  And  the  price.    NO MORE.    I got  less than  half  the  life out of them.     Some were  Mexico,  some were  China.

Pay an additional    10-20%  for  a  'good' bearing..  But  'finding' a good bearing is  not as easy  as it used to be!

I discovered   www.farmbearings.com    a few years back.   They'll have   your choice of import bearings to save some  money..  as well as  the   'good' ones too.     Fafnir,  Timken,  FAG,  Torrington,  NTN(Japanese)

So far,   the   Timkens and  Fafnirs    all have  'made in USA'  on them.

I try to keep  a  fair  inventory on hand of the most common ones  for the machines  I run.   Balers,  mowers, disk, and  the  zillion  wheel  hubs.
