No. When wife and were newlyweds 40 years ago, I was tempted, but she put her foot down. Glad she did. Biggest problem was (and still is, to an extent) I didn't like just sitting. Had to be doing something.

Father-in-law understood, and would always have something lined up for me to do outside after dinner if I wanted to do it. After that, I didn't mind sitting for a little while.

Now, the best thing I can do is take the grandkids (ages 3, 4, and 10) and son-in-laws, and go for a walk, whether we're visiting them or they are here.
When they're here, the little ones love running in CRP with the dogs and looking for "stuff" and burning off energy. So do I. Much more relaxed these days.
The older I get, the more I look forward to family gatherings, especially since both my parents and in-laws are gone. Still a sigh of relief when the house empties out, but kinda sad to see them going down the road.
